How to Determine the Perfect Bathroom Layout
In order to get the most out of your bathroom remodel, you have to choose a layout that lets the room and all its parts function well together. A beautiful, well-designed bathroom will provide a relaxing sanctuary and a functional space. When thinking about a bathroom remodeling project, use these tips to pick the perfect layout:
- Get Comfortable
Unfortunately, there are no set rules when it comes to a bathroom layout. To find what works the best for you and your space, think about comfort. Where will you be most comfortable using the vanity mirror? If the shower is on the south wall, then do you have room to open the door? Consider the positioning of the commode and whether or not anything else in the room will prohibit its use. If you keep the toilet at least 15 inches away from the other pieces then you should have a comfortable amount of space.
- Consider the Number of Users
Bathrooms can be set up differently depending on the number of users. If you know that elderly people will regularly visit, then you need room for a safety bathtub. Bathrooms that are designed for two people, like you and your spouse, should be able to accommodate someone in the shower while someone else uses the sink. Design your bathroom based on the number of people who will use it to find the best configuration.
- Take Pipes and Drains into Account
You may be limited on your bathroom design if you already have existing pipes, drains, and hook-ups. The bigger bathroom fixtures that use water will have to be placed on or near these existing pipes. Talk to your bathroom remodeling crew if you are not sure about the necessary placement for the bathtub, sink, or toilet.
